Imperial Capital Group Ltd.

Founded in 1989, Imperial Capital is a Toronto-based private equity buy-out fund manager that focuses on acquiring and building profitable North American companies (with enterprise values of $50 million to $300 million), in tandem with CEO partners, in targeted industries that have superior economic characteristics. It has a strategic focus and strong track record with family and entrepreneurially-owned firms. Imperial is currently raising its $350 million fourth Fund, and has achieved consistent top quartile performance in prior Funds.

 

In addition to institutions, Imperial has a unique value-added investor base of a large number of successful entrepreneurs, Chairmen/CEO's/Presidents and professionals (over 100 in Fund III), that refer transactions, participate on Imperial's Chairman's Council, and act as directors, advisors, and/or consultants to portfolio companies.

 

Imperial's strategy is to partner with experienced CEO's in targeted industries. The Imperial team (both deal professionals and CEO Partners) develops selected industry niches through/by: thorough research; attending industry events (such as trade shows, conferences and seminars); and directly calling on the owners and management teams of the better-of-class companies. The majority of Imperial's transactions have been proprietary.

 

Imperial was founded with a focus on adding value to portfolio companies. It works together with CEO Partners through a highly effective system (the Closed Loop Strategic Management System) to enhance the growth, profitability and efficiency of the companies it acquires. Imperial's portfolio companies are run like “public companies in training” with independent industry-relevant Boards of Directors and direct quarterly and annual public company-type reporting and governance.
