Jim Osler: Principal and Head - Mergers and Aquisitions, Genuity

Over the past 14 years, Mr. Osler has advised on major public transactions across a broad array of industries. Recent transactions include: advising Hydro Ottawa on the sale of their telecom business, advising UE Waterheater Income Fund with respect to the $1.7 billion sale to Alinda Capital Partners, advising E.D. Smith Income Fund on its $300 million sale to Treehouse Foods, advising Kraft Foods on the sale of certain Canadian assets and advising Sears Canada on the $1.9 billion offer by Sears Holdings.
 
Prior to joining Genuity Capital Markets in 2004, Mr. Osler worked for CIBC World Markets as a senior member of their Mergers & Acquisitions Group as well as in the corporate finance area working on a broad range of financing and structured products transactions. Prior to that, Mr. Osler was at Ernst & Young in Toronto where he obtained his C.A. designation.
 
Mr. Osler graduated with honours from the University of Toronto MBA program in 1993 and received a B.A. (Honours) degree from Queen's University in 1991.
