10:50 Panel 2: Deal Financing Today
Cheap, covenant-free debt has gone missing over the past year, as big banks pulled back on generous loans. This means new players have entered the market and prospects have risen for mezzanine funds. As equity components of deals climb and existing portfolio companies struggle under debt loads, this panel seeks to paint a picture of what deal financing is like today, where to find debt and on what terms, and what options LBO firms have now when a levered up company starts to stumble.

11:30 Panel 3: Energy Deal Making
This panel will tackle energy prices, fuel shortages and global warming—always pertinent topics in Texas and never more so than today. As this panel meets in early December, talk will focus around the energy policy for the then-newly elected president and how it will impact deal making over the next year. Panelists will also tackle a number of other issues, including sustainable energy investing and energy services deals.

Our closing panel launches us in appropriate fashion into our Deal Flow Circuit networking session. Here, we gather GPs and bankers to talk about deal flow trends in the Texas region for middle market firms. Where are deals coming from now? Are LBO shops bridging the gap with sellers? How much equity are firms putting into their transactions, how are they putting funds to work in slower times?
