Gwyneth Ketterer, COO, Partner, Bear Stearn Merchant Banking
Gwyneth M. Ketterer is Chief Operating Officer and co-founder of Bear Stearns Merchant Banking (“BSMB”). She is also a Senior Managing Director of Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. She joined Bear Stearns in 1998 to develop its merchant banking business, which currently manages over $5 billion of private equity capital, including its $2.7 billion institutional fund, Bear Growth Capital Partners and BSMB’s new Greater China joint venture. In addition to oversight of all of BSMB’s operations, her responsibilities include management of its private equity portfolios and strategic services initiative, capital raising programs, strategy and new business development. She also serves on the firm’s Investment Committee.
Prior to BSMB, Ms. Ketterer served as Senior Vice President of the Merchant Banking Division of Lehman Brothers Inc. and a member of Lehman Brothers’ Investment Screening Committee. While at Lehman Brothers, she also spent several years in Mergers & Acquisitions, both in New York and London, specializing in cross-border advisory and privatization transactions. Ms. Ketterer holds an MBA from Columbia Business School, a BS Economics from the Wharton School and a BA from the College of Arts and Sciences of the University of Pennsylvania.
