Gregory J. Jania, Partner, WP Global Partners
Mr. Jania is a partner at WP Global Partners in Chicago, a billion dollar private equity manager focusing on buyout, mezzanine, and venture funds and co-investing. Mr. Jania has over 14 years of underwriting and portfolio management experience with more than ten years in private equity investing. Prior to joining WP Global, he was a Senior Vice President at GE Equity which is part of GE Commercial Finance. At GE Mr. Jania helped manage a $2.5 billion private equity portfolio consisting of over 300 buyout, mezzanine, and venture funds and direct equity investments. He was also responsible for secondary private equity fund sales and purchases. Prior to joining GE, he was a Vice President at One Equity Partners, a subsidiary of Bank One that invested more than $1 billion in private equity funds and co-investments during his tenure and managed a $2.2 billion private equity portfolio with over 125 fund investments. Mr. Jania started his career in credit analysis and debt underwriting at American National Bank in Chicago. He is a member of the CFA Society of Chicago and the CFA Institute. Mr. Jania serves on numerous fund advisory boards and charitable boards. He received an M.B.A. with honors from the University of Chicago and earned a B.A. in political science and economics, magna cum laude, from Wabash College where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa.
