Carl D. Thoma, Managing Partner, Thoma Bravo, Inc.

Carl Thoma is a founding partner of Thoma Bravo, Inc. ("TB"), a private equity firm with offices in Chicago and San Francisco. Through TB and predecessor firms, he has invested $4 billion in equity. Mr. Thoma has been acknowledged in Fortune, The Wall Street Journal, and Business Week for his leadership in “buy and build” investments. TB has been an active investor in software and services over the past two years.

Mr. Thoma has served as chair of the National Venture Capital Association, as well as on the boards for Northwestern Evanston Hospital Board and Illinois Institute of Technology. He received his BS degree from Oklahoma State University and his MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1973.
