John E. Buehler, Jr.: Managing Director, Energy Investors Fund
John Buehler joined Energy Investors Funds (EIF) in 1989 as one of the firm’s original employees. EIF invests in a range of power-related projects, including gas and coal power plants, hydroelectric and wind projects. Buehler most recently led the firm in backing Solar Power Partners, a company that manages outsourced solar energy projects. EIF wrote a $60 million check to the startup, as part of a $160 million round. EIF raised $1.35 billion last year for its third fund, collecting cash from the Detroit Police and Firemen Retirement System and University of North Carolina and Grove Street among others. Buehler attended graduate law school at Georgetown University Law Center, received a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School, and an A.B. from Boston College. He joined EIF in 1989 as one of the firm’s original employees.
