Hans manages the firm including deal sourcing, structuring and execution. He focuses on secondary direct investment opportunities and limited partnership interests in funds invested primarily in technology companies. Hans sourced and led the acquisition of over $400 million of secondary venture investments. These transactions include purchasing corporate venture capital funds, restructuring partnership interests for venture capital funds, acquiring portfolios of Limited Partnership interests, purchasing founder’s equity interests and structuring special situation investments with General Partners and Limited Partners. The firm manages investments in over forty venture capital partnerships and seventy five private companies.
Prior to Industry Ventures, Hans was a successful entrepreneur who co-founded and acted as President of Microline Software which was acquired by Blaze Software (which completed a successful initial public offering and was acquired by Fair Isaac - NYSE: FIC). He also provided board advisory services to Discovery Mining (private), nCircle Network Security (private), Speedera Networks (acquired by Akamai), and StepUp Commerce (acquired by Intiut). He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA with honors from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
